How to Plant Blue Spear Lavender

Choose a location receiving at least six to eight hours of direct sunlight daily.

Excellent drainage is essential. Lavender performs best in sandy or gravelly soil and should never sit in standing water, particularly during winter.

Plant with the crown slightly above the surrounding soil and avoid burying the woody stems. Raised beds and gentle slopes help improve winter survival.

Space plants approximately 15 to 18 inches apart to allow good air circulation while creating a full border as the plants mature.

Watering

Water regularly during establishment. Once established, water deeply but only when the soil becomes dry. Blue Spear is drought tolerant once mature and performs best when not overwatered.

Pruning
