Welcome to Pause Lavender Farm & Nursery, a certified small-scale nursery located near Rapid River on Michigan's beautiful Stonington Peninsula.
What began in 2019 as a commercial lavender farming venture gradually evolved into something more.
As we planned fields, gardens, and future expansion, we discovered how much wildlife depended on the land throughout the year. Deer wintered here and had fawns. Turkeys, grouse, eagles, hawks, sandhill cranes, songbirds, butterflies, moths, reptiles, and countless native bees made the property part of their daily lives.
Instead of expanding production into every available space, we adapted our plans around the wildlife already here.
Today, Pause Lavender Farm combines organically grown lavender, pollinator-friendly plants, handcrafted products, and seasonal cottage goods with year-round wildlife habitat and a USDA-recognized pollinator garden.
Along the way, we discovered something unexpected: some of our greatest treasures weren't planted by us at all. Native ferns, wildflowers, edible plants, pollinator habitat, and thriving wildlife communities reminded us that sometimes the greatest reward isn't what you produce, but what you choose to protect.
We specialize in lavender and specialty plants selected for northern climates, including rooted starter plants, nursery stock, pollinator perennials, culinary lavender, handcrafted lavender products, and seasonal cottage food products.
We are proud to be Delta County's first lavender farm and a licensed Michigan small-scale nursery.
